fter a whirlwind couple of years, Japanese skateboarder Yuto Horigome lands his first Nike SB Dunk Low. Winning the gold medal at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and amassing a following of over 1.5 million followers on Instagram alone, it’s no secret that Horigome represents the next generation of skateboarding. Whether it’s the recently released Nike SB Dunk Low “ACG Terra”, Gundam x Nike SB Dunk High “RX-0 Unicorn” or even Drake’s Nike Hot Step Air Terra “Black”, you can spot Horigome laced up in Swoosh-based heat.

His debut collaboration strings together a range of soft hues, making these both highly wearable and easy on the eye. White leather on the vamp and sidewalls go beautifully with the muted blue overlays, an olive Swoosh tying into the soft palette. The rear portion of the upper is where a chocolate brown accent contrasts the heavy presence of off-white, sandwiched together by the brown outsole underfoot. As a final dabble in the softer set of hues, a pink leather heel tab rests neatly at the back, a possible nod to Stüssy’s infamous “Cherry” Dunk from ’05. Yuto Horigome’s name is woven onto the tongue label, sitting elegantly underneath the standard Nike SB logo, while on the heel a crossed-feather insignia represents his family crest and echoes the presence of Hiroshi Fujiwara’s fragment logo, another Japanese legend and cultural powerhouse.
